Burst Mode on Rebel 2000?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

Can you take a series of shots in a row with the rebel 2000? for example: a photo finish at the end of a race?

also: when talking multiple exposures do all the shots have the same look or are they faded behind the original first shot?

thanx

The rebel 2000 can shoot at 1.5 frames a second in the "sports" and "portrait" modes, and all the non-automatic modes. (P, Tv, Av, M) This is not exceedingly fast, i.e. snapping the photo finish at the end of a race would be pretty tough. I've never happened to use my rebel 2000 at this maximum advance rate. the more advanced canon cameras shoot much faster, the next camera in the current line, elan7 i think can do 4 frames per second. and so on. hope that helps.

Thanx so much for your reply. Now, is this an "AUTOMATIC" multiple shot feature by holding the button down throughout the sequence of shots, OR, do you have to press the button down multiple times manualy?

thanx

The easiest option for you is to run your Rebel in "Sports Mode," i.e., turn the command dial to the icon of the runner. This will automatically select continuous frame advance and follow focus. You merely point at your subject while holding down the shutter button all the way and you'll achieve one photo every 1.5 seconds.

Actually, a 1.5 frame per second shooting speed means that one frame is exposed every 0.67 seconds.
