Little poser

It could be the case on Saturday that we could decide Sunderland's European fate.

If they are beaten by Everton and we lose to Villa, Villa would take their place in 7th position and get the UEFA spot (Liverpool are 4-3 up after 87 minutes as I write)

If it came to it, would you rather we won against Villa regardless, or get beaten by them to deny the Mackems their two European games next season?

I've also noticed that if Southampton lose at the weekend and we win, we could actually finish higher than last season. YEEEEEESSSSSS COME ON ALAVES!!!!!! (sorry 4-4 now :) )

I know the league is weaker, but it would be nice to finish in the top half for the first time in three years.

It ended up 5-4 for the English team. Good for them.

....b@st@rds!

This question has been raised before Paul. My answer is that we have to beat Villa - frankly I don't give a toss about the maeckumz or what they do. At best, they will play two games in the UEFA Cup. Big deal - remember, we've actually won the damned thing!

A tad unfair clarky, had the Inter-City Fairs Cup been extended to include obscure, backwoods villages then Sunderland could have lost 2 matches in that one as well.

I only looked at this thread because I thought it was about min.

Beat Villa (well try to) put on a decent show for that last day, if the u'17s get a decent result and we get a back door to Europe it won't be a complete waste of a year.

If we lose to Everton, we miss out on Europe regardless. 7th or 8th doesn't matter as much as the mags points differential which I intend to remind you of all close-season.

That will be interesting SM3. You will really liven the place up.

Yup you finished above us fair (well kind of) and square...I've no qualms about it at all as I know we've had a shit season.....

There's always next season eh....

Laughable innit?

The Makems have their best season ever and we have our worst since we were relegated and there's only 8 points difference between the two clubs. We're gutted because we aspire for more, they're celebrating because they've got more points than us. Sad.

How come we lost a main striker for half the season and the other one for 2/3 of it and they only managed a paltry 4 more goals than us despite having "the most brilliant and cruelly overlooked at international level striker of all time" available all season? Must be some mistake, surely?

Sorry, I obviously can't count properly.

They have only scored 3 more goals than us with their World Class strikeforce.
