Cake and arse party. Update.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Sorry if I'm labouring this but it would be nice to keep the hassle on the night down to a minimum by having the numbers as definite as possible in advance.

The list as of now is :-

Me and Mrs Me

Clarky and Mrs Clarky

Dr. Bill and Mrs Dr. Bill

Steph and Mr Steph

Softie and Mrs Softie

Dougal

Screacher

Jonno

I make that 'unlucky for some, blind thirteen' :-))

Apologies if I've missed anybody - let me know before Friday, and also anybody else who fancies a neet oot.

In case anybody hasn't seen it on the other thread, we're starting off in the Strawberry round 8:00 o'clock Friday night.

I think Dougal's cried off, so it looks like I'll be stuck with keeping Jonno company. Better leave the car behind ;-)

So, we've got "The Odd Couple" with us, eh?

Actually, I thought we'd succeeded in strong-arming Dougal last night into coming along on Friday?

well, you see I have an appointment at the Nuffield at 10 on Saturday whihc means getting a bus from Consett at about 8 in the morning and getting up at about 6.30 so a late night sounds like a bad idea. I'm also broke and currently owe my mother more than Kenya owes the World Bank. On the other hand, I'd love to see youse all, "have one more gaudy night and drown consideration" (pretentious, moi? Oh yes). Will confirm tomorrow.

Have you tried the IMF for a sub Dougal?

-- Anonymous, May 16, 2001

Have you tried the IMF for a sub Dougal? It worked for Ethiopia.

Aye, the application is taking a while to process but I'm hopeful that it'll be successful. I've also got an application into Erasmus at the EU which gives grants to people who travel and explore different cultures. If I don't fit this description, making fortnightly forays to places like Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester, I don't frankly know who does :o))

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2001

Scratch one scold. Lock up your grandmothers, she's letting me out unattended.

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2001

Has Stowell St been warned? Will ring you later Soft one to discuss the morra.

That's disappointing Softie. Tell you what, I'm not doing anything Friday night, I'll babysit for you so you can tek yor lass oot on the hoy. :-))

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2001

Or I could stay at home babysitting and you can take her out on the town ;-)

Softie, looks like we're heading for that bane of humanity, a compromise.

So, leave your lass indoors mindin the bairn, then we can both go. Not that I'd object to having your wife looking after me, but I'd have to warn her, I can't manage Chinese food with any refinement - she'd need vast quantities of wiping material and other necessities for taking care of the aged and infirm.

And her indoors at my end might have an opinion on the subject, although knowing her she'll probably take the 'Gehr on wirit pet, and ah'll gan oot on me own un' enjoy mesel'. :-))

Sorry Screach, can't make it tomorrow. I'm still detained at Her Majesty's pleasure - Jury Service that is. The Case I'm on was supposed to finish today, but goes on, and on , and ................
So, see yers the morro neet - assuming HM lets me oot in time!
