I want to be independently wealthy. It is such a struggle day to day for me I really want to not have to worry about living pay check to pay check and working so hard for unethical people who don't care.

I would like to make sure I had enough money so that I wouldn't have to work until I'm 100 and my daughter would be financially secure when I die.

I would want enough money so that I could help friends who are in much worse circumstances than I. I want enough money to make life fair.

And I want enough money to buy a new flute and be able to not have to have a roommate (she is great though, but I didn't think I'd need a roommate my whole life).

I like what I'm doing now (writing and graphics at a non-profit organization, with a few luncheons and impromptu counseling sessions with kids thrown in,) but I wish it paid enough for me to get my car out of the shop and buy a new couch with cash.

Otherwise, I'd like to be a rock star, or a famous writer who lives in a million-dollar cabin and only goes to New York once a month or so.

I used to want very much to be some kind of public figure so I could hold baby wild animals at photo ops. As in, "President Eva holding the new baby tiger at the grand opening of San Diego's remodeled cat exhibit" photo captions. Not so much because I want to be photographed with wild animals, but I just figure that's the only way I'd ever get to pet them.

Now, I'd settle for being independently wealthy so I can just take poetry workshops (and not worry about the whole "get your Ph.D. so you can get a teaching job" thing) from famous poets and sit at home doing crafts. I fantasize about winning the lotter

I would like to be independantly wealthy. But I am glad that I didnt grow up that way, but if a chunk landed on my lap now I'd appreciate doing things on a whim. Like staying home without guilt with my son. Like not working but traveling with my family to where ever and whenever. To taking up classes on a whim. Buying gifts without calculating. When I grow up I really want to be less afraid and more relaxed :-)
