BTW I always though Gowling one one of the worst players who ever wore a Toon Top. Couldn't trap a ball, couldn't beat a player. I thought he, and to a certain extent Tudor, just showed that it didn't matter who you partnered with Supermac, they'd score goals.

*Well that`s my 20 to be getting on with, a Hall of Fame should never be devalued, I tried to base my choice on football ability, what the club meant to them and what they went on to achieve in the game. There are others I feel sad on leaving out, Allchurch,Jinky etc but if they ever install a Hall of Fame rest assured sports fans the following will be in for the interest it would generate for future generations, McCracken(Offside-Law) , Stan Seymour , (player, trainer, director, chairman) George Eastham (max wage),Robledos (first South Americans), Sir John Hall,(the ground etc), Norman Smith (the bucket and sponge man), and last of all hopefully Kieron Dyer

Surely any Hall of Fame will reflect those who watched them play? That is, how can I say that Jackie Milburn was better than Alan Shearer if I've never seen JM play? BTW I take it as received wisdom from my betters that Wor Jackie was a god in boots :-)
