Tony Adams

Talking with a mate last night from Lahhhnndahn who reckons that Adams and Shearer arenīt the best of mates. It apparently stems back to a prank at an England get together involving Shearer and Lee. Tony didn't see the funny side and their relationship hit a brick wall and has been bad ever since.

But, he reckons Shearer has invited Tony and his family to stay at Shearer Towers ce soir. How nice. Sans alcohol...

Adams will walk in and say where's your piano?

If I were BR I'd try to sign Adams as player/coach to finally sort out our defence. Can't think of a better choice, and I wonder if that's what in AS's mind also.

But you can see Adams going to the training ground and taking one look at what he's got to work with before exiting - stage right!

I really can't see an Arse legend going to the other end of the country where he's had nowt but abuse from the fans.

he hasn't had nothing but abuse. In 94 (?) when they had just won the Cup Winners Cup they were spontaneously applauded on to the pitch both when they came out to warm up, and then when they came on to start the match, they all looked pretty stunned by it. Wouldn't make an iota of difference to Adams even contemplating leaving London

Tony Adams adores us and has said so in several places. In his book, though, he is very scathing about Shearer's sense of humour, suggesting that it is infantile.

oh no it isn't

Certainly not, it's just that Adams is so overblown with himself....he can't appreciate it ;))

In the 1998 Cup Final they caught Adams for an interview at the end of the game and he spent most of it talking about the Newcastle supporters. One of many to wonder out loud what would happen if we ever won anything. He stood there grinning and gesturing over his shoulder: "Just listen to that lot!"

Ok, so it's just me that calls him an alcohic donkey whenever I see him...
