Bobby seems to be saying that a draw or even defeat is inevitable tonight, is it?

Yes it is....

I watched Arsenal beat us 5-0 away and it could've easily been more, their pace and running from deep had us all over the place....

They've got a champs league place to play for and wounded pride after being robbed at the weekend, we're gonna get hammered.....

Probably! If Arsenal want a point from this game I don't believe we can do the slightest thing about it, in fact if they want three they'll probably get them.

For Owen see Henry in terms of moving into space with pace. Uh oh! Perhaps he can't finish quite as well but he'll get far more chances than in the FA cup final.

Bergkamp is rumoured to be starting which is very bad news for us.

Gav, Ar$e have already secured their Champions League place, that's little consolation for us (IMHO), they'll see us as chicken feed!

:-(

Is that right Bud? I thought they could still finish 3rd which means a play-off with a guarantee of UEFA.

They still need a point to secure second spot and therefore avoid having to play a qualifier to get in the Champions League.

Without doubt we can take something from this game - IF they're heads are screwed on.
For a change, they need to start fast and get the crowd behind them.

`They are without Alan Shearer now but have a strong forward again in Carl Cort and some quality at the back and in midfield. They will also be relaxed because they are not fighting for survival or anything like that.'

He obviously hasn't seen Bobby's outburst.

If we don't go into the game thinking we can win it, we might as well not turn up.
Personally, I think it's our underperformance that's frustrated me most this season - we are capable of doing a lot better than we have. We might not have the very best players in the Premiership, but ability wise, they should be capable of giving most teams a run for their money.

Interesting slant on that viewpoint!

best turn it off then

"Arsenal are at Newcastle on Wednesday, seeking the point that would cement second place in the Premiership for the third year running - and another automatic entry to the Champions League next season." Sporting Life

Therefore no consolation for us :-((

My humble apologies, Mr. Herron

Their (Ar$e's) last games at Soton, so obviously they'll want to clinch that CL place tonight!

No worries Mr Weiser ;))

Facts & Figures

*Arsenal need a point to guarantee second place and automatic qualification for next season's Champions' League.

*Newcastle finish the season with two home games, Arsenal and Aston Villa. If they win both, taking their tally to 11, home wins, it will be their highest number since the 1996-97 season (13).

*Arsenal finish with two away games. Having won only five so far, they need to win both at Newcastle and Southampton to equal their lowest number of away wins.

*At Highbury in December, Arsenal romped to a 5-0 win with Ray Parlour scoring his first ever League hat-trick. Kanu and Thierry Henry also scored.

*Newcastle have won 39 and lost 16 of 67 meetings at St James' Park including last season when they won 4-2 almost a year ago to the day. Alan Shearer scored Newcastle's second - the 300th goal of his career.
