28-105 or 28-135IS??

I recently found a comment on the 28-105 that in comparison of optics quality, it is slightly better than the 28-135 IS. Is this true??

It's usually stated the other way. "The 28-135 USM IS has better optics than the 28-105 USM." But not much. They are both considered good consumer optics, but not quite up to the standards of the 28-70 f/2.8L.

The 28-105 is lighter & more compact, it focuses a bit more reliably in low light and is slightly faster optically. But the 28-135 has a bit longer reach and image stabilization. It also costs more.

I owned the 28-105 for about six or seven years and did a book with it. I now have the 28-135. They're both great lenses, but at half the price, the 28-105 is a better buy. (My 28-135 is still in mint condition and is available for $425 postpaid if anyone is interested. I'm going back to the 28-105.)
