1.4x EF vs. 1.4x EF II?

What's the difference between these two extenders? (Besides 30 bucks...)

Version II has an O ring on the mount to provide better weather sealing. It matches the O ring on the lens mount of the 1V. Optically it's the same. I understand the 2X version II has more differences though.

I'm just repeating what I've read. I've never actually seen them.

As Jim said, the II has better weather sealing (though this won't do you much good unless you are shooting with a lens and body which also has seals - an EOS-1v with a 300/2.8 IS, 500/4 IS or 600/4 IS).

It's also said to have better flare resistance (which wasn't ever a problem with the first version).

The 2x II is a new optical design, the 1.4x II is optically the same as the original 1.4x
