Sharon and Cass: I got your e-mails!!!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Beyond the Sidewalks : One Thread

I got your e-mails, but haven't replied yet - just in case it isn't the "red wiggler" virus that's messing with my e-mail program. Just bought a new Wally-World computer - waiting for the kid to get home and set it up (rah-rah practice 'til 9pm tonight); but hope to be back in the e-mail business soon!

Cass: Yup, still on for the 19th! I'm just planning burgers and brats on the grill with some 'tater salad, bean and etc...just bring your appetite, unless you have some kind of specialty!! Mike and Phyllis from Ashmore and their kids are planning to join us; maybe a few more. Can't wait to hear about the historical re-enactments!

Sharon: Thank-you!! What we do is dependent on the good old US of Army. Ryan was supposed to come home on leave in July. Then he was going to California for training. Then he was supposed to go out in the field. Then he wasn't going anywhere, but couldn't get leave anyway. Now he's supposed to be at Ft. Knox in July to train other soldiers for a month, then back to Texas in time to get on a plane and come home for leave and his brother's wedding in early August. No, he can't start his leave from Ft. Knox where we could just go pick him up and get right back home; he has to go back to Texas first so we can buy a plane ticket to bring him home instead. @**^%$&. I'm gonna NEED a vacation just from waiting for them to decide!

Gotcha! Invitation stands.

Hurry up and wait is the military way. Real efficiency experts. Yeah right. If they had to operate on our budgets and get all the things done that we have to do in our limited time, they'd learn a thing or two.

Yep, mothers need to be running this country.'cept we don't have the time!

Oh,I guess 'mothers' ARE running the country, just not the right kind of mothers.

See,I just had to slip in that political commentary. Behave myself!

Sharon - got the computer up and running just before 10 last night and sent you an e-mail; did you get it or have I totally screwed up again?

Gotta go mail out some cookies and go to the ex's to fix lunch for some kids - back later!

Hey Polly,

Those C-130's and Apaches from Fort Knox do fly bys right over my farm all the time. Those humongous helecopters, always 4 together, will carry Humvies hanging on cables under each helecopter, and fly from Fort Knox to Fort Campbell, and back, and my farm is in the fly path. They are soooooo loud and so low, it shakes all the windows and the horses and goats start running! You can hear them comming, but you can't see them till they come right over the tree tops in the back pasture. C-130's too. I wave to them. I know they can see me!
