Democratic National Chairman Terry McAuliffe is famous for raising big bucks. But maybe he's not so good at it without sleepovers in the Lincoln bedroom as a lure. Dems are buzzing about why McAuliffe hasn't released any fund-raising results for the first quarter of 2001 (when the rival Republican National Committee reported raising an impressive $23.7 million).

No report is required until June. But Dem campaign committees in the House and Senate joined the RNC in releasing theirs anyway, and the buzz is McAuliffe would if his numbers were good. The DNC insists fund-raising is "going well."
