in the words of the recently departed 'arry hammer about next season, with big spenders getting promotion

Well if hes quit because he hasnt got the money to strengthen a squad that is as good, if not better than ours then I hope Bobby has talked to him and our board are listening - or lord help us.

or even better..

get a bloody bid in for Carrick and bring the lad home, alongside Lee Clarke who would give a great deal more than what we have now

Carrick, Jody Morris, Lee Clark, Dyer, Nolberto - not a bad midfield eh?

The ITV "pundits" tonight reckonned it has to be a big bust-up with the board. Hopefully they want to cash in on Carrick ;-)

Just remind me again why Carrick would consider signing for the Toon when he carefully decided not to in the not too distant past?
Seems to me we're dreaming again - Rivaldo last week: Carrick this.

He's be a great acquisition to the catering staff ;-)

Regarding your question - it depends on his aspirations. Without 'appy 'arry, he may see his future at Upton Park somewhat limited. Yes, others may come in for him, but would they (a) be able to afford him and (b) he be prepared to take a bit-part role at those who could afford him?

Faint heart, fair lady (not that I'm insinuating anything, you understand).

Hey Screach - don't get me wrong - I'd spend £10mm of Douggies money tomorrow on Carrick. No problem.
I just can't see why he would come here, and can't see it happening. However, that certainly doesn't mean we shouldn't give it a try. But will we?

PS: I have a feeling 'appy 'arry's 'disagreement' with WHU may have been over the future of Kanoute at Upton Park.

Aye - we could find a place for him too (on the Sands at Tynemooth??)

More interesting to me will be where 'appy 'arry resurfaces (not the beach at Tynemooth ;-))

S'ton looks a good each way bet - or else Harringay Greyhound Track.

He'll stay.....rumour i've heard has Keegan taking over there.....it's about time he re-surfaced.....

West Ham will need someone with charisma to take over from Harry. Or all the youngsters will want to leave. You can see the likes of Leeds and Man U being favorites to take Joe Cole and Frak Lampard, but Carrick would want to come to Newcastle. He only chose West Ham in the first place because of the excellent youth set up. I can see him coming IF, the likes of george graham take over at West Ham.If Keegan or Curbishly take over then we can forget about him.
