He gets the ball

It's eight years ago today since the Andy Cole song was first heard at St James Park. I am sitting looking at a painting of the day with Cole about to slot in his 3rd, and our 7th.

A boisterous renditioning of Blaydon Races is very special, but "Andy Cole Andy Cole" was as joyous a sing-a-long as there ever was.

Anyone know what happened to Andy Cole?

John Gray, the man who had the tatoo was commited to a mental institution in June 1996. Two months before that he was rushed to the RVI after he aptutated his own leg with a breadknife in his garden shed. It was in all of the papers at the time.

'It was in all of the papers at the time'

Bliddy hell Rik, how many bits did he cut the leg into ?

There's a thought. Did he hack the whole leg off then cut it into smaller bits, or did he cut it off little bit by little bit, so he could prolong the pleasure ?

Being a git hard Geordie, ah berry done it the second way.

The guy's name was Rob Nesbitt, he was an utter lunatic from Ashington. I heard he tried to tke the tat off with an orbital sander.
