Video evidence.

On the basis that Bowyer received a three match ban on the basis of video evidence, even though the ref saw nowt untoward, isn't it time the same approach was used for cheats who score using hands etc ?

That Suarez git should now be charged at the very least, with ungentlemanly conduct, but ideally should be given a similar sort of punishment to that dished out to Bowyer .

Or raise again the view that a ref in the stands, with a video can be called upon for major incidents, as per rugby and checking tries were actually grounded over the line ?

Fair enough if he used his hand....i'm not convinced he did.....shoulder more like it....

But who would refer the incident to this 4th official? The ref on the picth last night obviously had no concerns with the 'upper-arm-of- god' (or chest-of-god, if fat Ron had his way) and the linesman was unsighted or equally felt it was a sound goal. My initial reaction was that it was a hell of a cross, keeper should have taken it but a good diving header. Where and when does the telly come into play? Rugby is odd in that a try is often scored with a whole body (if not bodies) together with the ball, obscuring the goal line.

Our game may benefit from 'did it cross the line' decisions and later referal of improper conduct, but unless you have a gang of officials as in American football I can't see a clear way forward for day-to-day decisions.

On the basis of video evidence I would award Sanchez of Valencia European Player of the Year for knocking Leeds out, ho ho ho.

So who was it referred Bowyer to EUFA ?

And 2-0 would have been just as acceptible as 3-0, DB.

Oops. Sorry. I meant dread.

I'm with Gav on this. He was making a genuine attempt to head the ball and he missed. The ball hit his shoulder and went in. Fair do's.
