The transfer system caffuffle!!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Looks like Arsenal become the latest in a long line of big clubs who are prepared to spend big even if the transfer ruling is only a month or two away. I wonder what Freddie's stance is on it now and how it is going to hold up the Training Ground re-development. It'll be 'Too Hot' to build it soon!

ARSENAL have made a £10 million bid for FC Porto and Portuguese international defender Jorge Andrade.

Given they're assured big bucks European football next season I think it's a modest outlay. I have no illusions that the core of our team for 2001/02 is with us already.

That'll be the core of our 2002/3 Nationwide Div.1 team then Bobby?

As Harry Enfield said "You don't wanna do that: 'cos if that's what you want, that what you'll get!"

At least last night's match showed we shouldn't have any problem getting promotion again right away. ;-)

Arsenal will only spend a net £15m in the close season, they need a midfielder to fit in alonside Viera & if i were an Arse fan, I'd hope for Petit. They spent about £14m last year so have spent less than us.

For me we must think carefully about who we spend the cash on because money is scarce.
