what about welding of austenitic stainless steel

-- orhan baylan (orbaylan@turk.net), May 08, 2001

One (1) of the best sources of weld schedule information is found in the “Resistance Welding Manual” published by the RWMA. Austenitic stainless steel may require the water cooling affect on the electrodes to be used to quench the weld zone faster to reduce carbon precipitation.

General Rule of Thumb:

Stainless Steel Do not use less than 5 cycles if possible. 2 to 3 times pressure. 10 – 15% less current.
