Buy a whole new team.

I wonder why nobody has ever thought of it?

The continent is full of decent teams that are worth very little money, that are doing very well. Just look through the French, Portuguese, Scandanavian and German leagues.

Take this example. SC Frieburg in Germany. They are in 6th spot in the league, have the youngest players in the bundersleague. just beat Hertha Berlin, and should qualify for the UEFA cup. They've conceded very few goals this season and were unlucky last week to be beaten 1 - 0 by Bayern Munich. The whole team would probably cost less than £20 million the rest of the club (ground etc) might set you back the same again. So why not BUY THE LOT. Use their facilities in Germany for our young players to train and play in. Bring their players and coaching staff to England, Add Given, Dyer, Solano and Shearer to the squad and we would have a team capable of challenging at the top

As for what to do with the rest of the players? Send them to Germany , to play alongside Newcastle's current reserves for(SC Frieburg), or sell them off cheap.

I hear you could get Blyth Spartans for circa £60K. Payable to the taxman.
