According to Secret Service and Treasury Department agents, the parents of Jenna Bush displayed neither anger nor outrage on learning that their daughter had been caught in an underage-drinking dragnet by undercover police in Austin, Texas. "They were extremely understanding," says a Secret Service source. "It was completely different from the previous residents of the White House, who would both just tear into our people for the slightest perceived error in judgment. The Bushes understood that there was little our people could do. Sometimes kids have to learn the hard way."
