I don't know if any of you read Viking Updates website, but lately it has become absurd. First, they try to diss ESPN for reporting misinformation in regards to the Vikings first round draft choice. Now they are saying that Cris Carter may not have announced his retirement, and that ESPN may have made this whole thing up. Funny, since I read a Q & A from Denny's press conference this morning where he states that he was aware of Carter's decision to retire before the draft. Viking Update over the years has been one of the biggest offenders of simply making shit up and reporting it, and now they are attacking ESPN? So what IS the deal at VU? Are they a bunch of patsies who are continually sold the brooklyn bridge by anyone who claims to be a Viking source? Are they a bunch of pompus mealymouths who think they know more then they actually do, and therefore don't even bother to actually prove facts before reporting them? Are they a couple of ten year olds who live in their mother's basement and get a kick out of trying to outwit reliable news sources? Are they the illigitimate love children of Richard Solomon? What gives?

Does anyone else have any good sites to get REAL Viking news without all the rediculous back patting and drivel that they spew daily?

I currently read the Pioneer Press, Vikings.com, cnnsi and the sporting news on a daily basis. I will sometimes read the Star Trib, but I find they really don't add anything I can't get elsewhere. I know Bruce mentioned the Red Zone or something like that once, anyone know what the link is for that?

And another thing, how can a supposed all viking all the time news source continue to report that Doug Chapman is the Vikings starter? Every other source under the sun acknowledges that Moe Williams is listed as the starter, but VU insists that Doug Champman is, in fact they did their daily drivel on this today. Doug Champman is not the starter, has never been the starter and never will be the starter until he beats out Moe Williams, which to my knowledge has not happened yet.

IZ, here is the site "theredzone.org" If you type just "redzone.org" you will get a porn site and knowing you and your outlandish martini glass shirts you've already been to that one. The Red Zone is a site that contains links to what seems like all newspapers and mostly reputable websites, including VU. I highly recommend it during the season because it has links to what other papers outside of MN are saying about the Vikes.
