"We would do better all to become paupers and live on a beautiful and healthy planet than to be millionaires living on a dying one." -John Seymour

Ah yes indeed........how very true.........however......methinks we would do even better when we discover we can be 'millionaires' AND live on a beautiful and heathy planet!!

Can't argue with old John on that point! Say, who is John Seymour? Name sounds familiar.....Kirk

this is a good one, we had morels, asparagus and t-bone steak we grew ourselves last night and felt like millionaires. I wouldn't even want the responsibility of having millions, just love me pauper life.

Kirk- John Seymour is an old environmentalist homesteader who lives in Wales I believe. The last I heard he was carted off to jail for demonstrating against GMO foods. He must be in his 80's now. He wrote "The Guide to Self-Sufficiency" among others. All his books are as relevant today as when he wrote them. John is kinda my hero, and I'm going to be so sad when he passes on.

AMEN to that!!!I keep reading in our paper about how folks just 'can't live without' things being the way they are... Nobody wants to conserve, explore, or develop... just whine. I hope it doesn't get as bad as the 'experts' predict, but fear it might. They all remind me of a bunch of teenagers mad because daddy won't buy them a new car.......
