How would sedimentary deposits on floodplains differ from the sizes of sediment that are deposited in river channels?

The sedimentary deposits are larger on flood plains than in river channels. Mainly because floods have far more force behind them. i don't know if this counts as a deposit but floods can move cars so I assume that they can move much larger rocks then your average river
