Is Edgar Allan Poe his real name? Because I heard that it wasn't so I was just making sure and if it isn't what is his real name?

Edgar Poe is his real name, when he began to write he used his foster- fathers' last name as his middle. Hope that helps:)

Rachel,At his birth on January 19, 1809, his given name was Edgar Poe. Following the death of his Mother on December 8, 1811, he was taken in as a foster child by John and Frances Allan of Richmond, Virginia on December 26, 1811. On January 7, 1812, he was baptized by the Reverend John Buchanan and was christened Edgar Allan Poe.
