M using wide angle fans... a new findergreenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread |
Here is a website that has a new finder for M cameras. It has a variable angle of view for the 21mm, 24mm and 28mm lenses. It also appears to have a threaded lock to make sure it doesn't come off of the hot shoe. The hotshoe foot also looks to be off-set to place the finder right over the lens. Take a look at (scroll down to mid page):http://www.foto-hobby.de/ger/leicanew.htm

I wonder if people who wear glasses will be able to see the whole frame? I also wonder how much it will cost...given that the flimsy plastic ones cost around $300 USA.

The pages says the cost DM698, that is $320, not bad!

Way overdue I would have thought. Looks good!

Do many of you actually have a 21, 24 & 28mm lens? It really is a great idea. Now if they just had the 35mm lines as well, it would be an M3 shooters dream finder.

Would like one for 90 and 135, too!

Appears to be marketed by Leica alright - you can just barely make out "Leica Camera Germany" in the right-hand photo. Looks ideal. I'll take a dozen. I like the idea of a 90-135 version, but I'm not sure Leica would put the effort into it, given that you can't zone focus with these long lenses the way you can with 21-24-28.
