CO: More filing as bankrupt

coupled with a weaker economy is sending increasing
numbers of cash-strapped individuals and businesses
to U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Colorado, bankruptcy
lawyers and court officials said.

In the first three months of 2001, the number of
Chapter 7 petitions rose 18.5 percent over the same
period last year, said Bradford Bolton, clerk of
Denver's Bankruptcy Court.
