How was Lucinda?!

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Answers

I don't know. But softball was fun.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Lucinda's my new girlfriend, no matter what Al Lowe says. She knows the truth.

Woo! It was awesome.

Berman coming to Darras! Chao Famiry so excited!

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

I don't know AB. She and I had something strong and special in Austin.

Did she sing Lonely Girls? Did you diiiiiiie during Essence?

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

She did sing Lonely Girls, and alas, I did not die during Essence, because I was getting a beer. Sadness. I don't even care, though, because she dedicated a song to Townes Van Zandt, but we all know it was really about me. Drunken Angel, of course, was the name of the song.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

of course that would was yours. Well, I guess you can have Lucinda. It's not fair for me to keep Greta Gaines and Lucinda all to myself.

Mike - are you meeting T today or tomorrw?

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Don't know. I think it depends on her schedule with the client.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Lucinda nearly killed me last night. Nearly.Killed.Me.

But it was worth it.

GodDAMN, I love that "I envy the wind" song. Lord.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

And tomorrow she's in New Orleans and Saturday she's in Atlanta and I'm not seeing her once. Not once.

Hate.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Hey, you have a car. Drag your roommate along and roadtrip to Atlanta.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Don't think I didn't already think of that.

It's called Owning a Dog.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Dogs love car rides.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Quit it.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

I'm just sayin'.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

So what's going down when MA--+1 burns up Dallas?

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Oh, you know, drinkin', baseball, food, whatever else.

Anna Beth. Where are you? Here's a present: http://www2.bitstream.net/~acs/music/lw/

I know you're all broke and stuff, and so am I, but I'm thinking I'll just quit my job and practice my guitar all day. Do you think that would be all right?

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Oh, Al. I love you. I already found that website! And I have learned to play three songs already. Her chord progressions are really easy. And also, I am a big dork for using "chord progressions" in a serious way.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Man, every song has like 3 chords, maximum. Even I might be able to do that. If they're D, G, A. You know.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Al - perhaps you're not getting my emails? Just wanted to say thanks for calling me last night.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

oh god, did y'all read Omar's update?

Al - didnt we see someone at Antone's?

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

The "I changed the locks on my front door" song has only three chords- -A, G, and E. So easy! Cool.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Mayn, I am not getting anyone's e-mails. The texashealth server is ass. Could be because my e-mail box is full to overflowing... but I don't know.

I can't believe you got a message - I called everybody in my cell phone memory, and the battery was nearly dead. I barely got to listen to Essence, I had so many people to call.

I'm glad you got to listen to part of it.

I just pre-ordered the new album.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

I hate that Eric's in PST and was actually awake to hear it. But see, now I have it saved.

I've pre-ordered it too!

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

http://www.lonestarwebstation.com/lucinda.html

This is a good page too. I got that Kasey Chambers CD and it's pretty good. How badly do I want to go to Chicago on the 18th of June? And now that my brother is living there, I just might.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

oh wait. Except that's a Monday.

Damn having a job!

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Teri has arrived in Washington. Just got a call on the cell.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Good, good. And Susan's meeting is at 2 CST and T promised to call me when she found anything out. In case y'all are as burned up over this gross injustice as I am.

Okay. Pop country, or new country or whatever you wanna call it. I have a love/hate affair with it. But I have to say, this Sarah Evans CD is fabulous. I adore it. She even has a Lucinda-esque song called Four-Thirty that I've listened to about 87 times now.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Al, did you get my "let's go to Harrigan's for lunch" e-mail? Because I'm huuuuuungry. Hungry as a toothless old man in a soup factory.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

L_L! Bastard!

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

I'm here! With internet access! Don't make me be the L_L, y'all.

Johanna, Chris would be in heaven if you brought Montego down. I'm just saying. Ooh - his boss is on NIghtline tonight. Execution recordings and some such.

I am planning on seeing the Bermanator tonight. I'm staying near DuPont CIrcle in a swank-ass hotel. Hotels are still a novelty tonight.

Al must not like me any more, because alas, no Lucinda call.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Oh, yeah, internet access in the swank ass hotel.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Hey, I didn't get a Lucinda call either. Good think that didn't happen earlier Tuesday, because the E-Savers came today and I could fly to Columbia, South Carolina for $119 instead.

Or not.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Anything exciting happening?

Seriously, I rarely stay in hotels. When I was little, we NEVER stay in hotels. So I still get all excited when they're, say, nicer than the Family Inn in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (where eight of us once stayed in one room).

My parents are meeting with the president at 2:30. My mother was at the school this morning and Sister Ambrose, who taught my mother, couldn't even sa hello to her. No one is allowed to talk to my family, the teachers are furious, Susan's counselor is in tears, and my mother swears that after this, all their support for that school will be gone, along with all the support of our extended family. Y'all, I have an aunt who donated a library. This will not be pretty.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

I think I stopped giving people the silent treatment in second grade.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

I don't think it's the silent treatment. I think it's that they're not allowed, right?

Poor, poor Dominican. No clue what it's in for.

T - check your hotmail.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Yep - no one is allowed to talk to them. My mother's heart is broken, y'all, but more importantly, she's pissed off like she's never been before.

I checked the hotmail and replied.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

I'm sending Susan flowers.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

If I can get ahold of my mother.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Johanna, you are too thoughtful. I know she'll appreciate it, and so will my mother.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Who are you meeting with for the lobbying gig?

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Today we're meeting with Sen. John Warner (R-VA). I guess you're a constituent. Tomorrow is the busy day - Mike DeWine (R-OH), John McCain, Max Cleland, Zell Miller (who, speaking confidentially, will be switching parties tomorrow), and Rep. Johnny ISakson. THose three are all Georgia.

I hate laptop typing.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

I don't know if I'm a constituent or not. I'm still registered to vote in Maryland, but I do live in the state he represents.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

DeWine!!!

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

I'll be sure to give DeWine a shout-out. DId you work for him?

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

No, but I've met him several times and he's a Miami alum. And his chief of staff, Laurel Pressler (also a miami alum) gave me tons of contacts at the statehouse when I was looking for a job.

He's a little, little man. Try not to stare.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

thanks for the warning. will the C of S remember you if I mention your name?

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Probably not. It was 3 years ago. Not like I wouldnt' vote for him anyway, but I will always vote for him now thanks to her.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

I'm back.

Sorry AB, I did not mean to ignore your lunch invite, but I got called in for a meeting in... wait for it... EULESS. So, I had to run over there, and I got, uh, lost on the way back.

See, Texas has too many roads, and they all seem to be going in the same direction, but they're not.

T and M, you received no Lucinda calls because my battery went dead during a call to my friend Holly in B'ham. And Berman, I don't know what you're bitching about since you will be here in a few days and AB has learned all the songs now and I can just sing them all to you. It ain't the same, but it's like, nearly as good since it's me and AB.

Teri, I await news of your sister's Nun Trial with barely concealed rage. I hope everything goes alright. The saints are on your side. Tell your mother to ask the Disciplinarian "What Would Jesus Do?"

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

All right, now the Starbucks is starting to wear off.

Hate. Need caffiene. Like, now.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

It is so cold in this building. Sheesh.

People, what is up with my constant craving for biscuts and gravy? This is not normal.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

A'ight y'all, I'm out. On time!

Gotta rest up to meet T tonight.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

Still nothing about sweet Susan Lippincott.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

H!

Well, when you hear, please post it here. I'll check in later. For now, please enjoy a new HYD for your reading pleasure.

-- Anonymous, May 02, 2001

al - are you still there? If so, YM me.
