Help needed.I want to weld 2 sheet metal components.I would like know which arethe parameter I have to consider, which will affect the quality of weld spot.Do I need to consider the thickness and the material? I need some information which will unable me to decide the welding parameter.

Pravin,

I would suggest that you read the thread at http://greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=004xm5 . It gives some general info about the three parameters you can change: Weld currents, forces, and time -- and how you can estimate them.

To get a more specific answer, you need to give more background info-- like what type of metal, what thickness, etc. It would also be helpful to know in general what type of resistance welding machine you are using and what size (KVA) it is. This can be found on the nameplate of the machine.

Keep asking questions!
