Adapter to use Nikon TTL flash on M6-TTL

Does anyone know of an adapter that would allow me to use a Nikon TTL flash on my M6-TTL?

Thanks in advance...

You don't need an adaptor to use a Nikon TTL flash on an M6TTL, but you'll need to use the flash in the "AUTO" mode, it won't work as a TTL flash. I've also heard (though never confirmed it as I don't own an M6TTL) that the Nikon flashes drain the batteries on the M6TTL. Taping over all but the central contact should elminate that problem if it in fact exists. There is no adaptor that I've ever heard of for adapting TTL compatibility between the brands. If you want one flash you can use on both Nikon and Leica, you'll need a Metz SCA series- 3000 flash, for which you can buy the 3501 adaptor for the M6TTL and whichever Nikon module goes with your camera(s). Beware that there are a *lot* of Nikon modules for the Metz flashes and you have to be really careful of which module you get, as somehow they are not as universally forward-compatible as the Nikon flashes.

I've done this with an SB-28 on an M6TTL and a plain old M6.

Some observations:

1. The SB-28 does drain the M6TTL very fast. 2. Contact is unrealiable/poor. 3. Taping over the contacts is not a feasible option, because the hot shoe simply pushes the tape out of the way and/or contact is poor. 4. The solution was to get a small PC to Hotshoe adapter, a $10 accessory that slides into the hot shoe that is itself a small hotshoe. However, there is no shoe contact on this accessory, only a PC cord that runs out of the side of it, which goes into the PC socket of the M6. The flash then slides neatly into the single contact PC to hotshoe accessory, and there is no possibility of contacts getting crossed, short circuited, or batteries draining.

You can't use a Nikon TTL flash ON a M6TTL, but you can use it WITH a M6TTL in TTL mode.

You need a small TTL flash on the M6TTL, a flash like the SF-20 and a Nikon SU-4 Wireless Slave Flash Controller .

Your SF-20 will command you Nikon TTL flash in TTL mode , thanks to the SU-4. More at: < http://www.cs.mtu.edu/~shene/DigiCam/User-Guide/EXT-FLASH/NIKON/NIKON-A CC.html>
