The city of Albuquerque's worries over a financial crisis involving overdue tax money seemingly are over. Early next week, City Hall should receive an overdue $7.4 million check from Bernalillo County tax collectors. It's money the city says it urgently needs to make its July bond payments.

The county had been unable to release the money because of a computer glitch in the County Treasurer's Office. Little by little, through conversations between the county assessor, treasurer, computer techs and outside experts, the computer system was fine-tuned.
