FL - Power outage hits Edgewater residents Staff report

EDGEWATER -- A capacitor failure left more than 2,100 residents without power for about 90 minutes early Monday morning.

According to Bob Coleman, a Florida Power & Light Co. spokesman, a disruption affected a feeder circuit for the city about 3:40 a.m. Power was restored around 5:15 a.m.

"This was not weather related," he said, adding FPL crews are still investigating what exactly happened.

Apparently the outage caused only minor disruptions for customers, Coleman said. "We only had 60 people call us."
