Which paper gives highest contrast?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Printing & Finishing : One Thread

I have a soft negative which I used to print on Agfa Brovira BEH ("extra-hard"). This paper is no longer available, I understand, and I'd like to know how to achieve the highest contast. I have tried DEktol undiluted on VC and graded Ilford FB papers. I use a Zone VI VC head. I'd be happy to used graded paper, of course. For what it's worth, the neg is Tri-X developed in Acufine and it has very definite (and attractive) grain.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Try Forte Polycontrast V (VC Fiber) in Photographer's Formulary 130 undiluted.

I can also recommend Ilfobrom Galerie grade 4 and Luminos Classic grade 4--both very contrasty bromide emulsions. I think the Luminos has the edge on contrast. I also second the Ansco 130 full strength recommendation for high contrast.
