Slide Mounts-FYI

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Pentax 67 SLR : One Thread

For several years now I've been using Panodia and Fotek, black paper slide mounts. Panodias have disappeared and Foteks have increased in price to over a Dollar each. Other options were necessary because the cost of mounting many slides was becoming a burdon. So, I tried Adorama's K-Mounts. They are white and have an outer dimension of 3.5" X 3.5" They are only about 25 cents each. Since they are white, you don't need labels for them and can write or stamp on them dircetly. The only negative is that it is difficult to find plastic pages for them. View All is the only producer I have found for the 3.5 x 3.5 size. They usually need to be special ordered. The K-Mounts can really save money and still look good. SR

Thanks Steve. Your timing could not have been better. I've been trying to find reasonable mounts for some time now. Previously, I just stuck them in some plastic pages unmounted. This meant putting the copyright and location data on the plastic page where it was easily seperated. For important submissions (calendars, etc), I've used Light Impression products but they are quite bulky and expensive, although they do make a good impression. These sound a little more economical for general submissions.

I use The Stock Solutions' Bair Mounts. http://www.tssphoto.com/sp/ The 6x7 size in 26 pt. white cardboard cost 24.6¢ each/100 or 18.9¢ each/1000. They also come in black for more money.
