Sunday Sun Letters page

As I now live in Leeds I manage to pick up the S Sun in the hope for some decent coverage of the toon - how misled I am. I was reading the letters page to find the star £30 letter printed 4 times under different names. Surely we have more to whinge about than complaining that Shearer wasn't at the SOS last week

and that letter wasnt a hoax by a mackem???

I would love a hand righting expert to check through half the shite thats written(or is it genuinely written), my bet is that a sad mackem poses as numerous toon fans, and mackems.

P.S. have you ever been sad and wrote to a newspaper??

Most of them came in via e-mail, so were all probably from Rik. To be honest, it didn't bother me that Shearer wasn't at the SoS. Should it?

Infact the fact he was on the box helped market the name Newcastle United a little more, which has to be better for the toon than him sitting on his arse doing nowt.

Funnily enough, the Independant was taking the mick out of a local talk in show where, despite rumours of a bid for Dyer the only topic of conversation was Shearer's adsence from the SOS

Let me guess there were real Newcastle fans with 'ship yard wear estuary mackem accents' also saying Robson should resign, We have no money etc....

Either that or people who call these shows are thick twats who are easily led by a half hearted journo who couldn't be arsed to get outo f the office when he could just write a story about Shearer prefering to be at old trafford.

What I laughed at when I used to read the letters page was the irony that Mr Farrington's nutshells, did he say something like, 'judging by the the sack load of my responses' regarding the shearer episode?

The same similar 'judging by the the sack load of my responses' irony about fans who have said that we must force Bobby out?

Or the same ''judging by the the sack load of my responses' irony that read must stay, and the cheap ticket policy is good and in no way forced?

Infact from now on look out for his devious slants..

There's another similar letter in the Journal this morning.
It's amazing that so many people can apparently be @rsed to write in about such a pissant issue - given all the other truly serious issues surrounding NUFC right now.

I don't think it's asking a lot for Mr Shearer to turn up to the games, injured or not. He is team captain and supposedly wants to move on to be our manager. There's a lot of young lads in the team who would benefit from a word or two of encouragement. Just because he can't play doesn't give him licence to ignore us and go and earn a few more of Murdoch's pennies.

Can you imagine a real Geordie like Beardsley or Lee Clark not wanting to be there to watch us play the Dark Forces. It is only a minor thing but I think it's indicative of the lack of team spirit at NUFC.

I don't think it really mattered - I thought the Lads were well fired up for the game anyway. If I was manager I'd only want the people directly involved in the game to be around - keep focus on your teammates and the matter in hand.

BTW is it tonight that Al is appearing on the dreadful STY1 show "Jumpers for Goalposts"?

If Shearer's around he's accused of exerting too much influence and undermining the Manager's authority: if he's not there he's disloyal, and undermining the team's moral. He can't possibly win with some people.

I never noticed, but now that I've found out it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Surely the main point is he could have chosen to play for MANU (and won the lot) but elected to come home (and win nowt).

I'm sure he'll be in the Sky box tonight as well.

I don't think they actually get many letters to publish. Why don't we start inundating them with letters on the same subject.
