the 9th leg - a slow hemorrhaging beginsgreenspun.com : LUSENET : orienteer kansas : One Thread |
The two leaders are stretching out their lead now. Halden and Baekkelaget are together at the front, leading Tur. Met. by 3:50 just 2km into the leg, 4th Pohjantähthi +5.55, 5th TuS +6.05, 6th IKHP +7.02 at this point.
The race may be for 1st and 3rd at this point!

A small error by Baekk. means they're down by 45 seconds to Halden... farther back on the course, Tu Met. is still 3rd, 5:40 behind, but IKHP has pulled up (placewise at least) into 4th, now 8 minutes behind.
It sounds like noone in the top 4 is running together now.

A look at the 9th leg times reveals the 2 Norwegian teams up front ran something like 5.7 min/km to gain ~5 minutes on everyone following.

Is is possible to have a "slow hemorrhage"?
