World's first internet-only UFO convention planned

The first UFO convention broadcast exclusively on the internet will take place in May.

Contact 2001 will be broadcast live from Oakland in California, where former military insiders, UFO researchers, scientists and doctors will gather.

Organisers claim the event will include an unveiling of debris from the supposed UFO crash site in Roswell, New Mexico.

The website reads: "This is the material you've only heard about and it's so controversial it was banned from network television. Now, you can see it for yourself.

"For over 50 years, the world has only wondered what crashed in the New Mexico desert. Now, for the first time, scientific test results will be revealed live on the internet."

UFO author Whitley Streiber will host the event.

UFO researchers Dr Roger Leir, Stanton Friedman, Robert Dean, Jaime Maussan and Clifford Stone will speak on subject ranging from the recovery and testing of the crash debris to first-person testimony from government insiders.

The convention, which costs $9.99 (about £7) to view, will begin at 11.30am GMT on May 12 at www.ufoxfiles.com/convention.asp.
