Question about Fuji Acros

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Film & Processing : One Thread

I have a question please, about the new Fuji Acros. I am very keen to try this new film. But as of now it is STILL not available!

I read in the May Shutterbug and it says that it has been on sale in Japan for ages.

So my question is this. Is this "Acros" the same as the Neopan 100 that sold by B&H which is imported by them from Japan?

Thanks!

Mike,

No they are not the same emulsion. I've been also keeping an eye as to when this film would be available here in the states...I've been told by my local dealer that perhaps another month or so.

Give Fuji a call - I am sure they can tell you when it will be available.

It's not the same emulsion as Fuji SS, their "old" ISO 100 film, though I don't know which film B&H is currently importing. My local shop has it on order, and said they expect it any week. In the meantime, I've been shooting a few rolls of the stuff that my brother picked up on a trip to Tokyo, and it's quite nice. Extremely fine grain, and can be pretty sharp depending on the developer used--I'm sorting out a time for Rodinal 1:50.
