Planning a Picnic and Day Outside? Of course, you will take a cooler and put your perishables inside covered with ice. But be aware that they will stay cool for a few hours, but not all day in the heat. Eat them first, so your family won't become sick, and the outing will be fun!

Please don't expect a sensible response to this from those of us who think 85 is far too hot. I couldn't spend all day in the heat if someone paid me enormous amounts of money. I truly admire people who can. You'll find me near the AC.

Unfortunately, I'd have to be right beside you on that hot day! ever since I had a hysterectomy...I can not tolerate hot weather at all, In fact I have passed out in the heat. NOT FUN!but eating "tainted" food is worse!

Yebbut if you're inside in the AC, the food should be nice and cold in the fridge! I'd love to have a sunroom where you can enjoy the outdoors AND the AC! I see them at a lot of the estate sales I go to and I know just the kind I want (lots of tinted windows, skylights and vertical blinds). When I make Sweetie's lunch, I put an ice pack on the bottom AND the top of his little ice chest to keep his food fresh because he often forgets and leaves it in the car.

Don't have any of those nasties here in southern California... guess I won't be seeing any of you whiney old ladies at the beach, probably too worried about getting sand in your knickers...Surf's up!!

I've got a wonderful well that provides sweet, clean water. Haven't found a source of water in California that I could stand drinking yet. When we're indoors we don't have to wear knickers at all. So there.
