NOTTINGHAM FOREST boss David Platt has dismissed reports that David Prutton is set for a summer switch to Newcastle. It has been suggested that the Magpies have agreed a £3.5m fee for the 19-year-old, who has made more than 80 appearances in two seasons for Forest.

But Platt insists: "I have not heard anything. There has been no contact from Newcastle and I have not seen any quotes from Newcastle." Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Ipswich have also been linked with the England Under-21 international.

Is Prutton a striker or a winger?

Defensive midfielder, an England U21 International.

There aren't many of his type around and at around £3million it would be a good deal for the club I reckon.

Other similar players like Davis and Carrick are better known and look at the price of those two!

We need a hard running, tough tackling big lad and he seems to fit the bill. A perfect accompliment to Bassedas who can do all the creative stuff.

He was tagged last season as the 'new Roy Keane', and whatever people on here may think of the current Roy Keane, we could certainly do with a goalscoring thug.
