Safety Glass

Glass in entry doors, storm doors, sliding doors, patio doors, and closet doors must be rated and labeled by the manufacturer as safety glass. As the name implies, this is about safety, not security. Standard glass breaks into large, dagger-like pieces, while safety glass breaks into small nuggets or holds together. The next time you have to replace the storm door glass, ask yourself, "do I want daggers or nuggets falling on me?" Plexiglas is the most economical alternative for door glass replacement.
