Sweetie tells me the same thing all the time. Sorry. Try waysidegardens.com, search on viburnum. I think I fixed the link too.

Spirea vanhouttei, aka Van Houttei spirea, aka Bridal Wreath spirea.

Is there a prize? Big K gets it! Had a hard time finding it--it's spelled Spiraea. It's probably Spiraea thunbergii [Thunberg Spirea].

You might also look at Spiraea nipponica ‘Snowmound’.

no prize. A big thank you for your assistance in identifying it.

. . .coming late to the party. . .

Yep, it's spirea. . .the perimeter of my childhood home's lawn was edged with these. They can grow fairly large, and created a wonderful 'hedge' of sorts. Was very pretty each spring, and yes, all the little girls used to pick 'bouquets' of these flowers and played "bride".

I's a cultural thing, I guess. I never saw one until I moved to central NC. They're all over the place in Durham. I have sentimental associations with many plants from my childhood and it's sheer pleasure to be able to grow them. I wish I could grow sweet peas! I'm finally trying to grow freesias, though, got a pot of little bulbs and fingers crossed.

Hey, wait a minute! I want the attaboy prize for being the first to point out it was a spirea!!

[[grumble, grumble]]

And nobody wants a pic of my pot of little bulbs and fingers crossed. Y'all are slipping.
