m2v codec screwed my video

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I just made this music video by cutting and pasting clips together. Unfortunately i have this burned image in my video of a three by three semi transparent square structure in the upper right hand corner of the screen. How the hell do i get rid of it? I think it has to do with the m2v codec i downloaded the day before cause thats when i first saw the squares. I uninstalled the codec but the squares are still in my vid. Can anyone help? Thanks a bunch

Errrr, I think he's talking about a watermark. the image is there only when you try and play the video right?

I'm not sure where you got your codec, but mine came with a batch file that can unregister the files that the Elecard codec uses.

Create a new file using a text editor. enter the following: (or just copy and paste)

@echo off echo Unregistering Elecard Codec... regsvr32 /u /s audionull.ax regsvr32 /u /s pim2null.ax regsvr32 /u /s mpgdec.ax regsvr32 /u /s mpeg2dmx.ax regsvr32 /u /s ac3dec.ax echo Done!

Rename the file to "unreg.bat" and double-click.

Your problem is solved!

And if you want to re-install (re-register) the codec to use it for another .m2v video, just copy the unreg.bat, edit it to take out the "/u" switches, save, and rename "reg.bat".

This little squares are the LOGO of the manufacturer of the codec, see at www.elecard.com bought by Moonlight. They appears because it is a DEMO and it desappears when payed. BY the way, it is the ONLY codec that streatch the M2V video under Windows Media 7, under Windows ME and 2000 !

Thrust me

I have solved the problem! :) There's a patch for the codec. It works also on the new version 2 from www.elecard.com and it enables scrolling, and disables the squares in the upperright corner. It also disables the time limit. Wanna have it? Mail me, hans@hansheino.nl is my address. Good luck!

ive never found any of these strings usefull in fact everything here is definately wrong. why run around in circles trying other peoples dumb suggestions the answer lies here http://www.geocities.com/emulationmaster/files.html happy g video files and get the vob filters to enable m2v and vob playback follow the readme and this wont fail. the file saves as filters and your playback will be perfect with no watermark. This has been tested on every operating system and unlike many codec packs this zip actually installs on a picky winxp or an old pentium 2. don't thank me i get enough emails a day. now im gonna go get some.

If you get any problems with it, right-click register.bat -> edit and change system to system32. I thought having regsvr32.exe in system32 was normal, and that's where i have it on my w2k, but in those bat- files they've used system\regsvr32.exe...
