Open Darkrooms in Washington DC area

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Film & Processing : One Thread

Hello,

I just completed a darkroom class, and I would like to continue processing my B+W film and printing. I was wondering if anyone knows where I could go to use an open darkroom in the Washington DC metro area. Thanks alot,

Paul

It won't be a darkroom unless you close the door.

There is an open darkroom at the Glen Echo Natl Park, off MacArthur Blvd in Glen Echo, MD. It is run by an organization called Photoworks. The open hours are on Sundays and Mondays; the rest of the time, the darkroom is being used for workshops. The fee is $6.00/hour. I have found the people to be nice, but the users' skills will be varied, so you have to watch your stuff.

I'm having trouble putting my hands on Photoworks phone number right now, but if you have trouble finding them, e-mail and I'll scrounge a little harder.

Henry, Thanks for the lead. I found the group you were talking about. Their web address is : http://www.nps.gov/glec/gephotow.htm .

Thanks,
