Bush at 63% Approval Rating - Rates HIGHER than Clinton at same point in presidency

[Snip]

The Post-ABC News poll indicates that, despite the bitterly contested election and the protracted Florida recount that set the stage for his presidency, Bush has made a positive early impression on the American people.

[Snip]

Bush has focused on a few major issues during his first 100 days and has impressed the public as someone who has a vision for the future (68 percent agree). The China episode has resulted in strong ratings for Bush as someone who can be trusted in a crisis and who is doing a good job as commander-in-chief, even though he had little foreign policy experience when elected.

[LOL Snip]

Ann Strohmeyer, 32, a marketing director in Champaign, Ill., and a Bush voter, said: "I work for a nonprofit organization which is heavily Democratic. . . . And everybody, for the most part, was upset that Bush was elected. But now that things are shaking out, no one's complaining anymore. And I'm taking that to mean either they're accepting it, or they're seeing things are not as bad as they thought they were going to be."

Thank God he defused that China situation by giving them one of our spy planes. That certainly earned him a few percentage points.

A Harris Poll published April 14 showed the president's favorable rating of only 49 percent "the worst rating . . . at this point in his presidency than any other president has had" since they began polling the question in 1964. (Bill Clinton was at 55 percent in April 1993.)

What a lie we get from Ain't. He claims a phone poll of just over one thousand people negates A Harris Poll showing completly different results. Just like the post where he said Bush would have won Florida, which was retracted the next day (something he failed to mention).

So Baaahaahaa or whatever he spouts, Bush is percieved as doing a lousy job and his approval rating is way below Clinton's at the same stage.

the near-idolatrous early coverage of Bush II by the Washington press clique has pretty much ended. Moreover, there are growing signs that the public isn't buying.

In a Christian Science Monitor survey taken April 6-10 and published April 16, "Bush earned an overall mark of only C-plus. . . . [T]he president's grades had declined in seven of nine issues on which he made campaign promises during the 2000 election. The poll determined that his public support dipped in every region of the country and among all age groups. Even fellow Republicans gave him lower marks."
