I'm bringing my best mate to God's own country for his stag weekend and am looking for a hotel/B&B as near to the Quayside as possible for us all to crash.

I had found the following hotel which would have been great but they don't have enough rooms available on the night I want.

Can anyone recommend anywhere else? The only stipulation is that it must be near the Quaside, say a maximum of 2-3 mins walk.

Cheers, wonkey.

The Malmaison is by far the best hotel on the quayside in terms of comfort and service, it's just down at the end of the law courts as well so you can start the quayside/city pub crawl from there....

other hotels that I know of down there are the Copthorne (near Julie's etc) and the Vermont (up the top of Dean St)....a cheaper alternative might be the Travel Inn down by the malmaison....

Cheers Gav, i'll check those ones out...

I think there's also a small hotel called Surtees on Dean St. It might also be cheaper than the Malmaison, Vermont or Copthorne.

Yep - I've stayed in the Surtees before. Dean St is a continuation of Grey St. It's right beside the railway arch which crosses Dean St. But hey, if you've been doon the Quayside, what's the noise from a couple of trains to worry aboot?

Nice hotel!...when are you going up?

23rd June, the plan is as follows >>>

12 of us lads coming up in a mini-bus on the Sat'da morning. Check in at hotel then proceed for a bite of lunch. Jump back in mini bus and head to go-karting track for kart grand prix. Back to hotel for sh*t, shower and shave then out for some dinner, hoping to book us in at the Pacific as I went there before the Hammers game and was impressed. Night out on the tiles, probably stay round the Quayside the onto a club.

I might need to ask further advice about pubs and clubs later as being an exile you lose touch of what's the scene.
