I can't sleep. I feel sick. I wish I wasn't bothered but I am.

I know that you are all anxious to greater or lesser degrees but just how bad is it? Come on boys and girls tell me. Are you one of those people who will get over it after a few days if we lose but enjoy light heartedly taking the piss out of any Mackems that you know, if we win? Sometimes I wish I was like that but I'm not. I have a seriously unhealthy hatred of SAFC and so I'm of the second variety of derby day fan. If we lose I'll be distraught and will have to keep off the drink for my own good because there's a real born and bred Mackem living over the road from me. Daft accent and all. If I was drunk well...... If we win on the other hand, I may die of alcohol poisoning. Just how much will the result effect you?

win - get hammered. happy. ecstatic memories of 'that day in Sydney'. Fond memories of Australia.

lose - not an option, however, should the worst happen - get hammered, angry, look for a fight. Blame Sting/Tynedale. Wake up with hangover and vow never to set foot in Australia again.

Min after last night i fancy you'd be capable of getting into a fight wheteher we win or lose . Just divvent look at me when the gay boys in Kings Cross come chasing after ya ;-)

If we were to lose today I'd probably stamp my foot!

Joking apart, I used to be like you SMB - The Toon WAS my world; all of it. One of my worst ever life experiences was losing that Div.2 Play-Off game to the barbers poles after they had just snuck into the last play-off spot.

While I'm still totally NUFC daft, I've mellowed considerably with age, and while defeat today would leave me seriously miserable and unliveablewith (!) for a few days, I could well get over it before the start of next season.

There is one enemy, the hereditary enemy and they play in red and white.

I hope that if you are going to the SOS today, that you've been to see your GP and had all necessary vaccinations.

I listened to the play off defeat on the radio then stomped around Dunfermline kicking walls and trees until I felt numb.

Made the last day relegations they suffered all the more heart warming

That's an interesting observation Macbeth. I think the present extreme level of hatred between the fans can actually be traced to that play-off defeat, and the perceived injustice of it.

It is often believed to have been the presence of Toon fans in the Gillingham end at Roker Park when Tony Cascarino condemned them to Div. 3, but I think that also may have been a consequence of the play- off defeat.

divven't believe him Galaxy. He's not to be trusted - are ya Sting? ;))

Spooky cooincidence but i very nearly got into a fight last night. Chatting to Nick and Tynedale and Loony after the match finished. Some lad just walks up to me and starts picking a fight. If he'd been a makem i could've understood it but no barber pole there. bemusing.

Well Min, I can`t imagine that you would get in a fight.....far too nice a person for that!(:o)

As for Sting.......well I won`t hear a word said against him! He`s one of my most favouritist people in the whole world,..........Aren`t you Sting? (;o)XXX

Had a run-in with a pair of "Geordie" Reds on the Metro. Unbelievable that you can have such unbridled passions over a North East derby and then come accross 2 of the worst class of f*ckwits on the planet. You need folk like me coming into the region to counteract tossers like this. Over the road I have a "Geordie" Evertonian and a Geordie "Liverpudlian". Don't feel at all bothered by being from doon sooth anymore: reckon my lad is the only natural-born-Geordie in black and white left on the street. Heinous.
