Fort Worth: Homeowner shoots armed robber, police say

An 18-year-old man was shot twice by a homeowner he was trying to rob in South Fort Worth, police said. The man, whose name was not disclosed, was shot in the head and chest and was in critical condition Wednesday night at John Peter Smith Hospital. Police said a homeowner in the 900 block of East Ripy Street was unloading a vehicle from a trailer in front of his house about 8:30 p.m. when three men drove up. One of them got out, pointed a handgun at the man and demanded money, police said. The homeowner, who police said has a permit to carry a concealed handgun, pulled out a gun and shot the man. The other two men fled but returned a short time later and were charged with aggravated robbery.

Another good statistic about concealed carry permits. The more people that get approved to carry concealed handguns, the less street crime.
