Use wordpad, so it will display as text so you can cut and paste. Open the link of an example I put together for IC and save it to your local hard drive. Hit back to return. Then, use wordpad to open in a separate window, then minimize it. As you need html goodies you've worked the kinks out of, maximize it, copy what you need, close it back, and paste to the thread. You can continue to add to it as you have things you want to use on a regular basis.

Couple of notes... background selections only work if in the first post of a thread, so if someone starts a thread, and you decide you want to pretty it up, open the thread and edit the beginning post, pasting your html pretties at the very beginning of the post. Signature lines can be done this way too... like this...
