A new Nobby thread

Nolberto Solano will play for Newcastle in this weekend's Tyne-Wear derby, despite being under orders to report for Peru's World Cup qualifier against Brazil. "Saturday is a game we must win for the fans and that is why I want to stay and play for Newcastle before I go off with Peru," Solano said. "Don't forget, this will be my last game for United before my two-match suspension and I want to make it a good one."

Got to love him for that.

As long as he lives up to his potential and delivers. Otherwise, he may as well be stuck up the Andes (no, ITK, not up Andy's). Nobby is such a frustrating player. We know he can do it, but equally, we can never be sure he will. Howay Nobby - give us a memorable performance against the Mackems on Saturday - it could be your Swansong.

Will any matches he misses while away count towards his suspension or does that only cover matches he's available for?

He's to be suspended for Leicester and Soton. So he doesn't miss anything while away, just means he doesn't have to rush to get back for the Leicester match.
