What I was, What I will be.

Once, I was a ballerina, when I was a little girl,

I would swirl and dance and fly, across that kitchen floor.

The music, in my head, would guide me, to the meadow, beyound the door.

Bouquets of flowers would be given me, that smelled like roses, had no thorns.

I'd lift my arms to the blue heavens, petals swirling, as I circled.

Thanking God for his creations, feeling Mother Earth's vibrations.

How I twirled, how I whirled.

That was then, in the now, the spinning makes me Dizzy,

And the music is not so loud.

But there are moments when I hear it , and if I listen, it get's closer.

And I can glide, on that old tune, so that life's trobles are not so gloom.

And if I hold it deep inside of me, that old sweet melody, I know that it will come, someday, full volumn, back to me.

And I will swirl, I will Whirl, just like when I was a little girl.

That was beautiful, Tren.

I was even compelled to create a new *poetry* category because of it. :-)

I like your expression of us changing in some ways and yet still being able to experience the special feelings of youth. I also like the straightforward style and words.

DIANE When this little poem came out of me the other day, I felt the urge to share it and I'm so glad that I did, espeailly if it lifted your burden, just one little bit ,for even a second! Thanks for your appreciation and I'm picturing everything wonderful for you Diane!

Chris, Hey fellow poet! It's good to hear your input!

Kirk, Yah, I might be creative but I can't keep house, figure out Algabra or spell! Darn it, my 14 yr. old daughter pointed out, (kindly) that I had misspelled trouble! Ah, man! I look so many words up in my worn out dictionary, but it's allways the one's that I don't even think about that I get wrong. Mark Twayne brings me comfort tho. I read a quote of his that said "I ain't got much use for a man (or a women?) that can't think of more then one way to spell a word" Allright ! But I am trying folks!

Sherri, I'm so glad that you are here too! p.s. are you a Pisces?

Jim M. I'm so glad that we are gonna have a poetry corner, Awesome!, Thanks! I know that there are more poets here lurking.

I love ya all! Tren

I'm a Pisces! But more important, that was beautiful. It reminded me of these beautiful bronze sculptures at this nursing home I used to visit. They are of beautiful boys and girls in different parts of the yard. They are running, jumping, and generally playing. The plaque says something like "Don't remember me for what you see now, but the child that lives inside". It brings tears to my eyes every time. Keep writing Trendle!
