Look right, am seriously worried about what a Mackem at work said to us, he reckons Bobby Robson was a sun’lun fan when he was younger The he telt us to watch the SJP game again when we lost, and sure enough like, when Bobby is being interviewed he cant stop laughing and smirking.

This lad starts gannin on about how YBR announced to the crowd at a Sunderland testimonial game how he was a Mackem fan as a kid. Then the fucker says how in 80s he nearly got lynched (spat on, people trying to hit him according to dave) for not picking Keegan for England the next time he came to see a game at SJP, can anyone confirm this like?

Coz I’m so nervous about the derby and stuff the twat has got me paranoid! Now Bobby comes out with all that “going to Roker Park” crap on MOTD it’s made me worse

1-Keegan was very bitter when Robson not only didn't select him (after attending his Toon debut) but didn't phone to tell him. I recall there was some criticism on Tyneside at the time.

2- When Robson was at PSV, and there was no inkling he may end up with us, his interviews in the Dutch press left no doubt which club he loved the most, Newcastle United. He would recount anecdotes abour Wor' Jackie to journos who'd never heard of him. I know the 'rivalry' wasn't as intense in the past but Robson a closet Mackem..... forget it.

I can certainly attest to the poor treatment Robson got for not picking Keegan, it was horrible. People were spitting at him and everything, very sad. of course Keegan milked it like Mrs O'learys cow
