Rock and Roll Heaven gets a little larger

Joey Ramone died of lymph cancer yesterday in NYC. He was 49 yrs young.

Rock and Roll High School was first introduction to them. Horrid movie, but at the time it mirrored the way I felt about my school so the Ramones became gods to me for it. Had the opportunity to work on one of their videos a few years later. Joey was an interesting character. Polite and very quiet. I don't think I ever heard him do more than mumble or grunt the entire time. Still a great experience to work with the punk pioneers.

RIP Joey.

Him and Harry Secombe in the same week. Kindred spirits, I feel. And there's been a doco about Miles Davis on for the last two nights...now that cat was gone, sister.

Dusted down my copy of 'Pinhead' this morning out of respect. RIP Joey.

aye, RIP Joey.

One of the first clutch of singles i ever bought was the cover of 'Baby I love You' by The Ramones from WH Smiths in Eldon Square [when they used to have that really horrible brown logo]

7inch vinyl and The Ramones. A match made in heaven.

Keep on keeping on, Joey.
